Frequently asked questions

What is an open fiber network?

An open fiber network is an infrastructure where multiple service providers can offer their services over the same network. This gives you, as a customer, the freedom to choose between providers for internet, TV, and telephone services, promoting both competition and choice.

Which service providers can I choose from?

In an open fiber network, you have access to various service providers. For more information about which providers are available in your area, please contact our customer service.

How much does it cost to connect my household?

For us, it's important that everyone can connect on equal terms. That’s why we offer the same price no matter where you live in the municipality. Click here to sign your agreement.

What is included in the connection fee?

The connection fee covers:

  • Excavation up to your property boundary and fiber installation to the connection point in your home.
  • Installation and maintenance of the fiber box in your home.
  • Activation of the fiber connection.

Please note that excavation on your own property is not included and may involve additional costs.

How long does it take to get fiber installed?

Homeowners, property owners, or housing companies

The installation timeline depends on the project and external factors such as weather. In general, it takes 4 to 12 weeks from order to completion. We aim to keep you informed throughout the process.

Apartment owners or tenants

If your housing company is already connected, the service can typically be activated within 1 week.

Do I have to dig on my own property?

As the property owner, you are responsible for excavation on your property. Feel free to contact us for advice on how to perform the work properly.

Where should I dig for the cable?

The cable should be buried from the property boundary to the location where the fiber box will be installed. The trench should be at least 60 cm deep. We provide detailed instructions and guidance to ensure proper installation.

What do the buttons and lights on my fiber box mean?

Here are some common indicators:

  • Power light: Green when powered on. Red indicates a problem.
  • WAN light: Indicates connection to the internet. Blinks when active.
  • Tele/internet lights: Show the status of connected devices. Blink during activity.

If the indicators show anything unexpected, follow the guide above or contact our customer service.

Can I get a subsidy or deduction for the fiber installation?

Excavation on your own property qualifies for a household tax deduction for private individuals. Note that this does not apply to newly built homes.

What internet speed can I expect?

Fiber connections typically offer high speeds—often up to 1 Gbit/s. The actual speed depends on the service plan you choose from your provider. Andelslaget Pedersöre Fiber offers a 50 Mbit/s connection for €15.06/month (excluding maintenance fee).

What happens if I move? Can I transfer my fiber connection to the new owner?

Yes, the connection can be transferred to the new owner. The easiest way is to include a note in the sales contract stating that the property includes a fiber connection, and notify us of the change by contacting us.
